Archive: Two Cities in Space

I painted this piece back in 2011, and it is still the largest painting I’ve ever made. At the time, I really wanted to try working in a large format. From what I remember, when I first stood in front of the 2.5 × 1.5 meter canvas and it was still completely white, I couldn’t bring myself to start. But once the first brushstroke was made, there was, as they say, no turning back 🙂 Two Cities in Space was painted in July, outdoors, under a huge apricot tree. It was a distant, calm, and genuinely good time.
